The Diwali Celebration on Saturday, 11th November 2023, at CamCareUK is not just an event but to make everyone feel at home and celebrate Diwali together.

CamCareUK’s Diwali Celebration is more than just an event; it is a celebration with an extended family. It mirrors the essence of Diwali – dispelling darkness with light, fostering unity, and embodying the spirit of giving and sharing.


As attendees enter the hall, they are greeted with a traditional Namaskaram, extending Diwali wishes that resonate with the spirit of familial togetherness. For those new to the Diwali experience, assistance adorning the elegant saree or kurta is readily available, ensuring everyone feels at home. Representatives from Sikh, Jain, Buddhist, and Hindu communities take the stage, sharing personal stories that enrich the understanding the festival’s universal message.


Following a collective prayer, attendees are treated to a delectable and complimentary meal, symbolising sharing joy and abundance. Each family is presented with a thoughtful Diwali gift, fostering a sense of connection and gratitude. The celebration extends beyond cultural boundaries, uniting individuals with diverse backgrounds in a shared experience.


Notably, CamCareUK proudly keeps this celebration free of cost, supported by Cambridgeshire Community Foundation, Cambourne Town Council, and local businesses like UrbanChai, Tiffin Truck, and Navadhanya, ensuring that anyone, regardless of background or means, can partake in the festivities. The open invitation reflects the organisation’s commitment to inclusivity and community cohesion.


Mrs. Jennifer Crompton DL graced the occasion on behalf of Lord-Lieutenant along with the High Sherrif of Cambridgeshire, Dr Bharatkumar N Khetan, Cambridgeshire Police and Crime Commissioner Mr. Darryl Preston, Anthony Browne MP, the Aviation and Net Zero Transport Minister, County Councillor Mr Mark Howell, Leader of South Cambridgeshire District Council Collor Bridget Smith, Cllr Peter Fane Chair of the South Cambridgeshire District Council attended the event. 


Mr. Vijay Acharya, a Computer Engineer by profession, who coordinated the Diwali Celebrations, invited the professional bands from London and the dancers from Swara Nritya and Dance Masti from Cambridge, who added extra joy to the celebrations. Cambourne’s Liver transplant Surgeon, Dr Asif Jah, graced the evening with their enchanting voice, filling the air with the beautiful melodies of Bollywood songs. 


CamCareUK’s charity initiatives take the responsibility of ensuring every family receives a Diwali Gift bag with the Diya, Sweets, and Sparklers, mingle with friends, Diwali shopping from stalls, free-style Bollywood dance, and free fireworks bringing additional delight.
